I don't want to advertise the game but I want people to look it up on their own and see if it would even interest them beyond whatever I type here. I'm looking for someone interested in playing Mortal Online. This is probably going to be a long post. It's a hardcore full loot open world PvP game.
I say it's hardcore because when you die you drop everything you have on you (with the exception of a few things). It doesn't tell you what to do. There is really only one thing currently that could be considered a quest in the game. So you start the game, do the tutorial if you choose, and from there it's up to you. That's probably the part where majority of new players stop playing within a week because they don't have a goal for themselves. I personally don't consider PvPing a goal unless it's something like "I want to be the best fist fighter" and you actively work on proving yourself to everyone that you can become the best and beat other people.
The economy is almost entirely player driven. NPCs don't sell armor or weapons (except a basic one that isn't really worth it) or reagents for the powerful spells. Crafting is kind of detailed in this game where you decide the material for the different parts of a weapon and how much of it you want to use in each part. So you basically figure out a recipe that gives you the results you're looking for and work from there. I guess it's trial and error but maybe there is some sort of real world application to it. I'm not interested in crafting so I'm not sure how someone would figure things out in an efficient manner.
For example, I think 121 is the max strength a character can have. So when you craft a bow you make sure it's able to be pulled back by someone with 121 str without draining a lot of stamina. People usually range from 115-121 so someone with 119 str generally wants 119 str bow but could use 115 str bow they just would lose out on some damage I think. Someone in the game figured out a way to craft 121 str bows that have 300+ durability. I think only a few people know how to do that so people that care enough will travel to the town he sells them in and buys them off the trade broker which is just a NPC that sells your items and people can search them. Anyway there are so many details I'm leaving out but the point is your goal could be to figure out how to craft bows equal to that or even better. Heck I even heard of a way to make sniper bows which has a huge increase in range but the str is higher than any character can handle so it's only good for like 1-3 shots before your stamina is fully drained depending on your character.
The reason I love this game is because knowledge is power and there are so many things kept secret and plenty to discover. Can you imagine when the game was first released and everyone was clueless together? We all wondered how do we make money to buy the basic armor. Some of us chopped wood, mined rocks, or gathered flowers and stuff. There was so much to discover in this game and there still is but it depends on what your interests are. You can fish in this game varying your hook size, bait, location, and depth you cast to. This means if you're looking for a particular fish you ideally want to find a setup so you're only catching that fish and nothing else. You can try talking to other fishermen and see what someone is willing to share but chances are if it's a highly sought after fish and they know how to catch it they aren't going to just tell you.
Some of the reasons I hate this game is all of the bugs and problems that arise. There are things that have been reported years ago which still haven't been fixed. I personally have been complaining about a certain set of skills not working which wasted a bit of my time and gold. Turns out it's been known for a few years now but still hasn't been fixed. That caused me to waste more of my time and gold to undo those skills. There are also some systems in the game I don't agree with. I don't want to spoil much but there are certain items that are all contained in one spot. Players go to that spot, check if the items are there, log out at that spot, get back on that character later to repeat the process until they get an item. These items shouldn't all be in a single location and that's the only way to obtain them in the game. What makes it worse is the way the items build up. It builds up over time and the server resets daily so it's only possible to get like 22 hours of generation going for those items. When someone opens (or maybe takes) where the items are located the timer resets. Personally this made 5am the optimal time for me to login and check. Of course others around the world it might be a more normal time. Oh and pretty much it takes a lot of hours for the items to generate enough so a majority of the day it's not going to have been enough time for me. I guess I'm trying to say certain timezones get certain advantages.
I can go on but I'm going to stop here. Feel free to PM me with detailed questions or anything you want to know to help you decide if you would be interested in playing with me. There is plenty I haven't done but want to because you need a group and I've mostly been playing solo.
