I am considering taking on an estate and selling the contents for someone. I have not done a walk through yet but from the sounds of it, it may be some pretty good stuff that would likely sell well on eBay.
I was hoping I could get some input from others who have taken on a task like this and see what kind of fees they have charged.
As it stands now, I am leaning towards a 30% fee for myself plus seller fees being paid by my client, along with possible returns being deducted from the payments to my client.
I will take the items into my possession and handle everything from photography to shipping, as well as have an agreement that payment only takes place once the return window closes. I am also planning to have a minimum selling price on items that i will accept as well as having sole discretion on how the items are priced and sold.
The other method i was considering was a flat 50% rate where i pay all fees myself.
I have always sourced my own items and never sold for others. How have you guys with experience structured things?
