Hey everyone, I'm just about at my wits' end over this. Steam suddenly out of nowhere started running slow. Not running slowly, but running every Steam game in slow motion. The audio plays at normal speed and the game registers inputs in real time, everything visual is just slowed down for some reason. There was no change I am aware of between when it was working and when it decided to stop. Steam was working perfectly fine yesterday morning, and when I come back in the afternoon it's suddenly malfunctioning.
The only threads I can find with this issue are long dead or have no helpful suggestions.
It's not tied to screen refresh rate, since I've changed mine from everything between 30hz back up to 144hz to no effect.
It's not tied to having multiple displays active.
I've tried both updating and rolling back my display drivers (Nvidia GTX 980) and nothing changed either time.
Clearing Steam's download cache does nothing. Updating and even reinstalling Steam itself does nothing - the problem persists after reinstall.
I suspect it has to do with Steam, as I can play other games just fine. I tried out Brutal Doom as I've added it to Steam - opening it through Win Explorer or through Steam has no difference, and it runs as it should, so I strongly believe it's with Steam games specifically.
Any ideas?
