Something I’ve always wondered about the companionship between my Xbox One/Tv

I have a Sony Tv mounted where my system is normally connected to and I have my preference settings to bind the two for powering on simultaneously. However I have a smaller JVC tv that I sometimes place on a table closer to me and I switch my HDMI over. It will stay like this for maybe a week or so at a time, but every time I power on my Xbox, my Sony turns itself on as well. Even when they are not connected??! My JVC is a rather older model and does not have the capacity to communicate with my Xbox the same way for binding options. But how does that work for the “Home” TV screen even when they are not connected? 2spok4meh
